Diabetes
Working with a dietitian can help you target the habits to change and improve your diabetes management. In 2019, a study showed that, in adults living with type 2 diabetes, medical nutrition therapy by a registered dietitian resulted in significant reductions in the average level of blood sugar (HgA1c), weight, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, cholesterol, and systolic blood pressure. (Razaz & all, 2019)
Arthritis
Studies reveal the typical “Western diet” is linked to a high level of inflammation in the body. Pro-inflammatory foods may worsen the symptoms of arthritis, while anti-inflammatory foods may reduce the severity of the symptoms. By making small changes in your nutrition, you can reduce the pain caused by the disease, maintain your range of motion, and overall increase your quality of life. Registered dietitians can guide you through this process and support you when everyday life struggles caused by arthritis get in your way.

FAQ
Most frequent questions and answers
Registered dietitians (RD) are the only nutrition professionals regulated by law and are managed by a moral code to guarantee they consistently work to the highest standard. Dietitians are practitioners who specializes in working in healthcare environments to offer personal counseling and work with clients to create individualized nutrition care plans.
During your first 60-minute appointment, our dietitian will get to know you and listen to your concerns. It is very important for our team to take the time to build strong rapport and trust so we can move forward together in a safe environment. Through collaborative teamwork, our nutrition experts engage in guiding you and exploring solutions that will suit you and will be sustainable while building your confidence and autonomy. At the end of your first meeting with the dietitian, our goal is that you feel empowered and supported.
Then when you come back for your follow-up appointments, whether you decide to choose the 30 or 45 minutes one, the dietitian can assess where you’re at and continue the discussion from there. Depending on your needs, we may offer compassion and reassurance, uncover any barriers, fears, and uncertainties, explore your motivation to change, brainstorm for solutions or build up a specific plan. All this of course, accordingly to your own pace.
Whether you’re suffering from a newly diagnosed or long-term known condition, you are struggling with combining healthy eating and a fast-paced lifestyle, you want to demystify the true from the false in terms of nutrition concepts, or you are tired of fighting with your weight and want to improve your relationship with food, registered dietitian are here to guide you and support you through this journey.
